Terms of use
Last updated 23 October 2026
The agreement between you and us when you download, buy or use sideOS. If anything here is unclear, ask us at support@stockimg.ai.
Who we are
sideOS is made and sold by Stockimg AI, Inc. (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the sideOS app for macOS, its licence and this website. By installing sideOS or buying a licence you agree to them.
Your licence
- A sideOS licence is a one-time purchase. It does not expire and there is no subscription.
- It includes every future update to the sideOS app. If we ever offer optional paid services alongside the app — for example a hosted model, so you would not need an API key of your own — those would be sold separately and would not take anything away from your licence.
- It covers one Mac at a time, and you can move it whenever you like: choose Remove from this Mac under Settings › Licence on the old Mac, release it at sideos.ai/licence, or choose Move to this Mac on the new one.
- It is personal to you — or, if a company bought it, to the person the company gives it to. Please do not share, resell or publish your key.
- The licence gives you the right to use sideOS. The software itself remains ours.
How the licence is checked
sideOS confirms your licence with our server when you activate it, and renews it from time to time after that. A renewed licence keeps working offline for up to 30 days, so a lost connection — or an outage on our side — does not lock you out. What activation sends is listed in the privacy policy.
Copying an installation to other Macs, sharing a key, or tampering with the licence check is not allowed, and a key used that way may be blocked.
Payment
Payments are handled by Stripe; your card details never reach us. The price is shown at checkout, Stripe issues an invoice for every purchase, and your licence key is emailed to you as soon as the payment goes through. If you lose it, you can have it sent again at sideos.ai/buy/recover.
If a payment is refunded, reversed or disputed, the licence bought with it is deactivated.
Your AI provider
The agent needs a language model. You either connect your own account with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or xAI using an API key, or run a model locally on your Mac. Requests go from your Mac directly to the provider you chose, under your own agreement with them: they bill you for that use, and their terms and policies apply to it. We are not part of that relationship and cannot see or control those charges.
Using sideOS responsibly
sideOS acts on your instructions — it reads the screen, opens apps, clicks and types for you. AI models make mistakes, so check anything that matters before it is sent, deleted or paid for. Pressing Esc stops a run at any moment.
You are responsible for what you ask sideOS to do and for having the right to do it, including in the apps, accounts and websites it works in, and for other people’s information that appears on your screen. Recording a meeting may require the consent of everyone in it where you live.
Do not use sideOS to break the law, to harm others, or to get around the security of systems you are not authorised to use.
Updates
sideOS updates itself, and updates are part of your licence. If an older version develops a serious problem — a security issue, a bug that loses data, or a service it depends on shutting down — we may ask you to update before you can keep using it.
No warranty
We work hard to make sideOS reliable, but it is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be free of errors, uninterrupted or suited to a particular purpose, and we are not responsible for the output of the AI models you connect to it.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
Ending
You can stop using sideOS at any time. If these terms are broken in a serious way — a key shared or resold, or the licence check tampered with — we may deactivate the licence involved.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as sideOS changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed; continuing to use sideOS after a change means you accept the new version.
